Why & Who
Our Editor was cruising the Florida Keys and this is
how story unfolded:

"The top was down, the air swirling my hair in the warm caribbean breezes.
It was one of those perfect days.
A building caught my eye. Bright
caribbean colors and designs. Caribbean Chocolates. The colors and
playful artistic expression on the building caught my eyes first, but when I
saw the word 'chocolates',
I knew this was a woman I wanted to
meet.
Later she asked me "How did you know a woman owned this
business"? I didn't know how to answer. I just knew. The whimsical art, the
immaculate and efficient operations - and of course, it is chocolate we are
talking about.  Who loves chocolate more than the very best sort of woman?

Caribbean Chocolates is in an industrial building. I found the door and let
myself in. The first thing I noticed was how clean this facility was. Sparkling.
The kind of clean where you could lick off the floor and never think twice
about coming in contact with any germs.
This place is your Gramma's
kind of clean.

The second think I noticed was the perfect order of the place. Everything
about is screamed the 'only in my dreams' kind of efficiency.

This is the calmest, most orderly work environment I have ever seen.

The owner, Winona Nutter, was
extremely gracious considering that I, a
complete stranger, had barged in during the middle of her work day asking
for an interview. The first thing she said was "Well, here let me show you
what I'm working on right now, It's Banana Chocolate." Blech, I think. there is
no whay these little white things have the cocoa concentration these
hormones need.

She started to hand me one and then hesitated.
"Don't bite in to it", she
said. "Just place it on your tongue and let it dissolve to get the full
experience.
"Whatever" I thought. But I was the one barging in to her work
in the middle of the day and here was graciously offering me candy, so to be
polite I did what she said.

I stood there for a moment, the seconds ticking by slowly and
then it hit. OH MY LORD! This was phenomenal!
There was this
magical Willy Wonka effect going on in my mouth with the flavors, moving,
changing, unraveling and getting better and better. My eyes bugged out.
"This is really great" i told her. She said "Yes, thank you."
"No, this is really ,really good chocolate" I told her, as if she didn't
already know and that I was trying to convince her. "Well thank
you" she politely answered.
I started telling her about the Chocloteria's I
found over in Spain, and that this was as good or better than the finest
chocolates I had overseas. "Thank you", she said, "I've been told that
before". Immediately I stared grilling her about case quantities and
wholesale rates so I cold make these available in our
HouseWife Mafia Gift
Shop.

I headed home with a bag full of samples and an appointment for a proper
interview. I went around our neighborhood stopping people and barging in
to yards making gardeners try them. Everyone I could find, including the
garbage man got the same treatment she had just given me. "Don't chew
them"  I would say, "Just let it dissolve on your tongue".

I guess I wanted to see if I was just some easily satisfied chocoholic freak,
or were these chocolates really that good? Later, during our proper
interview, she said
one of her favorite things about this business is
seeing peoples faces when they try it for the first time.
Universally it
was true with everyone I gave them out to. They all looked at me like I was
out of my mind, but did as I asked just to be polite and probably to get rid of
me so they could go back to work. They all had the same reaction I did, with
the bug eyes followed by demanding to know where they could buy them.
Truly, this is no ordinary chocolate. Just as they were
created by no ordinary woman."
How we found Caribbean Chocolates and
brought them here for you to enjoy.
After coming across something so wonderful
we had to share it with you.

Forget love --
I'd rather
fall in chocolate!!!
Stress wouldn’t be
so hard to take if it
were chocolate
covered.
Nobody knows the
truffles I've seen!
A little too much
chocolate is just
about right.
There’s more to life
than chocolate, but
not right now
There's
nothing better
than a good
friend, except a
good friend with
CHOCOLATE
Simply put...
everyone has a
price, mine is
chocolate!
